Walk

Departure: Damn..again...Maybe around 10:15AM (Must note the hour)
Arrival: Arround 1pm
Distance : 4.6Km
Type : Walk.
Gear: Blue shirt, blue short, cellphone, keyset, wallet, camera, sunglasses, cap, sandals, the big DANSAM backpack.

Stepped out. Turned right, then right again, got to Larco and turned left. I walked on Larco, with no significant event I rememember and got to Larcomar. A lot of people which is usual for a Saturday morning. A dude jumped the stairs with his mountain bike... I stopped near the Paddington statue and took a picture. A while ago, vandals, damaged the little tag saying "please take care of this bear". As you can see on the pic, it has been fixed so they took care of the bear statue, as the tag said.

I headed to the malecon and took this picture of the Morro Solar to show how clear was the view this morning.

I kept walking. Some times strangers get to close to me and mumble stuff so I had to stop to take my distance and regain my tranquility. Otherwise, the usual people on the malecon. Saturday walkers, runners, bike riders..

I took this picture of the sea so you can see how translucid the water was today. We could see the rocks and pebbles at Makaha beach. In spite of the mediocre waves, you can also see a lot of surfers because it´s Saturday.

I got to the park, first sat under the pine tree but decided to change to a better position. I sat further. There was an "ojo" news paper of today on the bench. And a lot of people got close to me and stopped at the parapet. I wonder about that. Not many dogs today. Anyway, I sat there and thought for a while. The classic jewel vendors passed through. Then, I took a glance at the news paper. Basically the news I heard about yesterday and some stuff I´m not really into. Really weird adds on that newspapper. "Ojo" is somesort of Tabloid.

I stood up and walked towards the Intihuatana. I saw they where finally planting flowers on that space that had been plowed last week. A Jacque Dutronc song at the Beso Frances.

I came back through the same way and again, strangers mumbling behind me. I took my distances from them. I saw this woman behind me and another one passed running. I kept walking arrived back at Larcomar and thought: Should I do the detour and keep walking by the sea path or should I go straight to my destination? I chose to go straight.

I stopped at the church and wanted to cross the street and saw that same woman accross the street. I turned left at the crossing and I kept walking on that street: Gambez Balboa. That woman was still on the other sidewalk so I thought she was following me. But then, she stopped at a grid and I saw she got into a property.

Anyway, I got to the La Paz crossing. That zone is very misterious to me. It´s like the twilight zone. I mean, the map of that zone is complicated to understand. I thought I turned but I just saw the map and apparently I went straight. I arrived at the Reducto crossing and a man was talking about the political situation in Peru with a cambista. "El país se va a hundir" yada yada. He might have been spanish.

I crossed the street and turned left. Took that usual little street that leads to that same old pedestrian bridge over the sanjón and got to the Market.

Same same. I bought supplies. From an economic point of view, the trick is not to buy "imported" or "procesados". Just basic "local" fruits, vegetables and products. I´m not very practical so I stop at manny stands, take out my wallet ten thousand times. I don´t really enjoy going to the market. One stand might have this and the other not. I´d preffer if there was a local, vegan, organic supermarket with a shopping cart and a cash register that takes credit cards. Anyway, there was this french dude with his girlfriend who bought one single miserable "tuna" and was complaining about the fact that last time they sold him "fruta podrida". The place was crowded. There a few of these germanic peoples talking their strange language. I bought soap as I planned. But something terrible happened to me that ruined my perfect day. When I was at the shade of the market I took off my cap and my sunglasses. I placed them in my pocket and lost them in the way. Maybe I dropped them, maybe a pickpocket took them. I´ll never know.

😭

I got to the end and had ask for a slice of vegetable quische, some bread and as I was hot, took a pause to drop my bag and drink a glass of chicha which was served to me kindly. That´s when I actually realized about the sunglasses. I came back throught the stands to do the last purchase: 2 mangos! (no more, no less). The plan was also to get more fruits  this time because I´m always short on fruits so I bought a few of different species. I eat a lot of fruits: Each morning, for deserts, for snacks...

I got back home through the usual way with no particular event.
